We welcome any mom who is interested in meeting other moms in the area and being active in our playgroup. Most of our members are mothers but we welcome grandparents and dads as well. Just as many of our members are SAHMs there are also some that work outside of the home. Most importantly, we are just a bunch of fun lovin' gals that like to hang out with other moms and talk about our kids and our busy lives. This group belongs to every active member, as organizers we are just providing a direction and hope that everyone will share with us their ideas for making the group even better. We are always looking forward to meeting new friends.
Attendance
We ask that Joplin Moms members attend at least one gathering per month. We work hard to come up with many different activities at different times so hopefully it won't be too difficult for anyone. If for some reason (vacation, military family, computer problems, etc.) you cannot attend just let one of the organizers know. Joplin Moms who do not attend on any sort of regular basis are subject to removal.
Gatherings
We try to meet at a variety of locations and times to suit all of our members. You will need to check the calendar for upcoming events. All new members must meet with one of the organizers prior to gaining access to the website. This creates the safest playgroup environment for your child as possible. Along with the many playgroups, we also host several other gatherings such as: mom's night out, family BBQs, holiday events, trips to the zoo, and many others.
Fees
Although we didn't like the idea of having to charge a fee, we are a good size group and it isn't fair for the organizers to have to pay for everything. We will be asking for $1.00 per month from each member. If anyone has questions about the fees and how much it costs to run the playgroup you can email the organizers to let us know.
RSVP
RSVPIT! feature is what sets us apart from other playgroups. We ask that you treat this as you would any other invitation you would get from a friend. We want to encourage members to RSVP for every event. Even if you know you won't be able to attend just put NO. Also, if you do RSVP YES, please make every effort to attend so we know who to look for at the events. You should be able to locate our cell phone numbers so anyone can call if they have a problem and cannot make it. It is very important (if possible) to check the website before an event and update you RSVP if you need to and check for any changes to the event.
